ATS Matchup Insight | CappersPicks Insider Preview

The Raptors have been very kind to supporters this year, particularly those willing to put their money where their mouth is. The Raptors are 25-10-1 ATS in their last 36 games.

While the team has taken some criticism for their inability to dominate on their home court, that hasn’t been the sentiment in betting circles, as Toronto is 12-5-1 ATS in its last 18 games at the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors have also really taken care of business inside the inferior Eastern Conference, recording a 19-7 ATS record when playing opponents from the East.

The Raptors weren’t able to cover the number in their last outing though, as they were held off down the stretch in Brooklyn. Point guard Kyle Lowry paced the Raptors against the Nets, scoring 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting, adding eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.

That performance came a day after Lowry recorded a triple-double against the Timberwolves, giving him averages of 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 9.0 assists in those back-to-back games.

The team’s fourth-ranked scoring defense is what let the team down in the game’s closing moments. In the game, Brooklyn was allowed to shoot 48.6 percent from the field and 55.0 percent from beyond the arc, including a devastating three by Paul Pierce with just over a minute to go that broke a tie and put the Nets up for good.

As for the Pistons, they were able to get past lowly Sacramento on their home court on Tuesday, but they have had a hard time finding that kind of success on the road, where they’ve lost nine games in a row.

Toronto is simply in much better form than Detroit right now, and has a 21-point win over the Pistons under its belt already this year.

Additionally, the over has cashed in 14 of the last 17 times these teams have met, but Toronto’s defensive play has taken a big step forward this season, and this game marks the first time these teams have seen a total above 200 set for their game since 2011.

Trends/Prediction

The Raptors are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games versus opponents with a winning percentage below .400, and they are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 home games versus opponents with a road winning percentage below .400.

The Pistons are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings between these teams.

The play: Toronto -9, Under 206.5
