The Miami Heat will try and close-out this series on Thursday night with a win over the Chicago Bulls in Game 5 of this best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals matchup. Tip-off from the United Center is set for 8:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Miami is just one win away from punching its ticket to the NBA Finals after a thrilling 101-93 overtime win as a five-point home favorite in Tuesday night’s Game 4. The Heat are now 9-5 against the spread in the playoffs. They are 3-3 ATS on the road and the total has gone ‘over’ in nine of the 14 games overall. They are now 3-4 against Chicago straight-up this season and 3-3-1 ATS.

LeBron James has lived up to the hype in the last two games of this series by not only putting up a combined 57 points of offense, but shutting this year’s league MVP Derrick Rose down when Miami needed to the most. The Heat have been outscored in the paint and outrebounded under the boards in both of these games, but they are 2-0 which is all that really counts.

Chicago’s loss on Tuesday dropped it to 7-8 ATS overall in the postseason and it is 4-4 ATS at home. The total has gone ‘over’ in eight of its 15 games. The Bulls averaged 93 points a game against Miami in the regular season, but have been held to 89 points a game in this series. The total has still gone ‘over’ the total in three of the four games in this series.

Rose will be under the spotlight in this one after coming up well short of his MVP-status in the last two games. He has averaged 29.8 points a game in this series but has missed a couple of key shots with the game on the line. Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng will also have to step things up to keep this series alive, but it will still most likely come down to who wins the matchup between Rose and James.

It is hard to see the Heat losing this series, but stick with Rose and Chicago to extend it to at least one more game with a win on Thursday that covers the two-point spread.

The Pick: Chicago -2
