Shaq is back, Zdrunas Ilgauskas is back, Antawn Jamison is on board. Fine, but we all know this series is all about LeBron James, and if the Bulls are going to make the next week anything resembling competitive, they have to figure out some way to keep James from going off for 35-40 a night.
Chicago had best hope that James is a little rusty after sitting out most of the month of April while the Cavs played out the string.
Not likely, but there’s not much else for the Bulls to hang their hats on.
Chicago does deserve some credit for winning 6 of its last 8 (after losing 10 in a row in March), and the Bulls have battled back from injuries to just to earn a spot in the tournament. Chicago has an advantage at the point (Derrick Rose over Mo Williams), but the front line will be crushed by the Cavs’ depth.
To make matters worse, coach Vinny Del Negro and GM John Paxson are feuding about playing time for ailing center Joakim Noah.

Chicago is playing with confidence, but the Bulls will not be able to repeat last year’s first round, when they extended Boston to 7 and tired out the Celtics so much that they had nothing left in Round 2 and got knocked out by Orlando.
