NBA betting preview and free pick for tonights matchup between the Bulls and the Grizzlies. The Chicago Bulls are a 2.5-point favorite…

NBA Picks Chicago @ Memphis

The Chicago Bulls (10-11 SU & ATS) and the Memphis Grizzlies (7-15 SU, 9-13 ATS) have both won two games in a row. On Friday night these teams will get together for some NBA pro basketball sports betting action that is scheduled to begin at 8 PM ET at the FedEx Forum in Memphis.

BetUS NBA Wagering Sports Betting Odds: CHICAGO -2.5, Total 201.5

Here are some of the NBA pro basketball sports betting trends as they relate to this matchup:

* CHI has covered one of its last six games
* CHI has lost 16 of its last 21 road games SU
* MEM as covered three of its last 11 games
* MEM has lost 12 of its last 16 games SU
* MEM has played seven of its last eight games OVER the total
* MEM has played six of its last eight home games OVER the total

Also….

* CHI has won and covered four of the last six meetings
* Ten of the last 15 meetings have gone OVER the total
* MEM has won and covered eight of the last nine meetings as the home team
* Five of the last seven meetings in Memphis have gone OVER the total
* CHI has had the rebounding edge in four of the last six meetings
* CHI has made more three-pointers in five of the last six meetings

Memphis recently kicked a seven-game losing streak and has suddenly caught fire, at least by their standards. They beat the Clippers last Friday, then, after being blown away at New Orleans, rebounded with 51% shooting to beat Houston by twelve points. They followed that up with a road win – their second of the season – in Oklahoma City against the Thunder on Wednesday, riding 22 points from Rudy Gay. O.J. Mayo has averaged almost 21 points a game, and in his last two outings has seven assists without a turnover. Memphis played a strong game against the Thunder with just eight TO’s. Defense is going to be a continuing problem, they allowed the Thunder to shoot 51% from the field. Even Houston, which generally shoots poorly, hit almost 49% against them.

Derrick Rose, a native of Chicago, returned to his roots to play for the Bulls who drafted him first overall. But Rose played many of his college games right here in the FedEx Forum as a member of John Calipari’s Tiger squad that went to the national championship. As an NBA rookie, Rose is almost a 50% shooter and is improving as a playmaker. He averages 6.1 assists and in the last two games he’s turned the ball over only twice while dishing out 15 assists. In the November 1st meeting between these teams, he had 26 points just his third NBA game.

There is no doubt he’ll be up for this one, but so will the Grizz who are looking for revenge after loosing by ten points at the United Center in their initial encounter. The Bulls have taken consecutive home games against the Wizards and Knicks, and shot over 49% over those games. They’ve had two full days of rest coming which they hopefully spent working on their shooting as they’re still averaging less than 44% on the season. Memphis has been getting points off the bench and no one needs to motivate Mayo for this rematch with Rose. Technical trends aren’t too bad for Marc Iavaroni’s team – they’ve covered eight of the last nine meetings as the home team.

We’ll stick with the home team here, grabbing the points with the Grizzlies, the 2.5-point underdog in the BetUS NBA pro basketball sports betting odds.
