Well, after a nine-game losing streak, Golden State managed to stop the bleeding on Monday with a 112-102 win over the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder. Okay, we’re not sure that constitutes anything in the way of a buy signal for this Warriors team, but there aren’t too many of those floating around the Milwaukee camp either. The Bucks have dropped three straight on the road by double digits, and they are allowing 101.2 points a game on the road.

The Bucks have recently been a soft team, and I’m not sure that has really changed under Coach Scott Skiles, who has, to his credit, at least purported to emphasize defense. If you take a look at what has happened over the last year between these teams, Golden State hung a 30-point loss on the Bucks last December 5, and in January repeated that drubbing, this time to the tune of 119-99.

Of course, that was a Warriors team that was a little more accomplished. Monta Ellis is still sitting out his suspension, and will be until December 19. And no one cares very much about defense in the Golden State camp, in case you hadn’t noticed – they have allowed 110.8 points a game at home, which is 30th in the league. The acquisition of Jamal Crawford, who scored 40 points in the December 1 game against Miami, doesn’t make them stingier.

Frankly I am much more comfortable with the total here than anything else. The Warriors have played every home game this year over the total, and this series has gone in that direction as well, with six of the last eight meetings exceeding the number. In six of their last eight games Golden State has surrendered 119 points or more. So it might not much matter that Milwaukee is coming from a game last night in Phoenix.

Let’s move OVER the total of 220.5 points, as it is posted in the BetUS Sportsbook NBA pro basketball betting odds.

Our PLAY: OVER 220.5 ***
