Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

The Heat have won 6 straight with LeBron James playing out of his mind while the Thunder are coming off a loss. NBA lines have the Thunder as 4.5-point favorites in this game with a total of 204.5.

In their last games the Heat beat the Portland Trailblazers 117-104 while the Thunder lost to the Utah Jazz 109-104.

On the season the Heat are 25-24 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 25-24 and the Thunder are 31-19-2 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 27-25.

The Thunder are 23-3 at home this season and the Heat are 12-11 on the road.

I mentioned James was playing out of his mind and that may be an understatement, as he has scored 30 ppg on over 60% shooting in 6 straight games. He and Dywane Wade, who is also playing well averaging over 5 ppg more than his season average in 5 straight games, will be facing a Thunder defense that ranks 14th in the league.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are a couple of All Star starters and they have to play well tonight and they may have to have big scoring games if their D cannot stop LeBron and company.

One player that has to play well tonight is OKC’s Serge Ibaka (13.6 ppg 7.9 rpg), as he is THE big man for the Thunder while the Heat do not have a legit big. He has to score, but his board work and D is more important in this big game. The Heat only have one weakness and that is rebounding where they only rank 30th in the league in rebounds per game. Heat reserve FW Udonis Haslem (5.4 rpg) is questionable for this game and if he cannot go James and Chris Bosh will have to hit the glass.

The Heat beat the Thunder in 5 games in the finals last season and earlier this season in Miami they beat OKC by 6 points.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Heat are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 games.

The Thunder are 23-9 ATS in their last 32 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall, and they have an Over record of 5-2 in their last 7 games.

Jason’s Pick: I think the Heat will keep up their solid play, as King James simply cannot be stopped and I think they will not only cover the spread, but win this game as well.

One reply on “Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Gambling Odds & NBA Free Pick”

The Heat have been playing consistently good basketball lately. I see them taking this game, too. My only worry is Russell Westbrook exploding for 25-30 points on fewer than 25 shots. If he contributes to the Thunder’s success, rather than making sure Kevin Durant has to spend all game making up for his mistakes, they might win handily. Russ is OKC’s x-factor, but I think Miami will contain him tonight.
