Philadelphia heads to Phillips Arena in Atlanta to take on the Hawks, who have won four out of their last five and only trail Orlando by two games in the Southeast division. Getting a win on the road will be a tall task for the 76ers, who have lost six out of their last eight games and three in a row.

After winning five in a row back in early February the Sixers were thinking playoffs, after the way they have looked in their past few games they should be thinking about adding a few more ping pong balls with their name on it in the NBA draft lottery. What looked like a promising turn around to a stagnate season, has turned into a free fall as they are starting to get beat in every phase of the game. In their 105-126 loss to Orlando on Monday night they were once again beaten badly in the third quarter after keeping the game close in the first half.

They could not stop the Magic’s balanced attack allowing seven players to score in double figures. Rookie G Jrue Holliday was the only bright spot for Philly as he made the most of his start with a team high 23 points and six assists. The team’s only bona fide star, Andre Igoudala added 19 points in the loss.

Atlanta is currently 38-21, which is the third best record in the East behind Orlando and Cleveland. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games and have won their last two. In their last game, a 116-92 win over Chicago they led by 16 points at the half and outscored the Bulls 41-24 in the fourth to put this one away with relative ease.

Jamal Crawford scored a team high 21 points off the bench and Josh Smith scored 17 points and added 18 rebounds to lead the Hawks. Through 59 games Joe Johnson is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 21.7 points per game and Al Horford is averaging 13.9 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Overall this is a well balanced team that gets its production from their entire starting five as well as from their bench.

Philadelphia’s only chance is to keep this one close deep into the fourth quarter and not allow Atlanta to control the pace to wear them down. One thing about Philadelphia is they rarely loose more than three in a row as they seem to find a way to squeeze out a victory over a good team every once and awhile. Look for them to give the Hawks all they can handle tonight.
