OK, now that the gnashing of teeth and the swearing and cussing are over, it’s time to figure out what the Cavaliers will actually put on the court this season. Since the majority of players have spent the last few years standing around and watching LeBron James run up and down the court, this season they actually get to play.

And since expectations could not possibly be lower, there will be no pressure on new coach Byron Scott or any players.

Scott, who has a few other coaching stints, with mixed success, vows that the team will play an uptempo style. But all coaches say that, and no one wants to admit that the best chance a talent-challenged team has is to slow the ball down.

And it’s hard to run when the guys on the front line who will be rebounding are Andersen Varajeo, Antawn Jamison and Jamario Moon. All decent players, but we’ve probably seen their best.Online Sports Betting at Sportsbook

Mo Williams, who freaked out in the playoffs against Boston last season, and either Ramon Sessions or Anthony Parker figure to be the starters in the backcourt and complete a starting unit that has a bunch of OK players but without a go-to guy.

The Cavs like the potential of J.J. Hickson, but management has been saying that for a while now.

Maybe with LBJ out of the picture, Hickson will flourish with an increased number of touches.

After pushing the boulder almost to the top of the mountain and then seeing it slide down, the Cavs and their fans have no choice but to start over from scratch and perhaps wait for the next LeBron James to show up. Time to start scouting the high school players in Akron again.

Surprising stat: Parker shot 41 percent from 3-point turf last season.
Strengths: Scott is a patient coach who rarely goes off on his players.
Weaknesses: No one-on-one scorers to produce when the shot clock is expiring.
Playoffs? Not this year. And next year doesn’t look too promising either.
