This prime time racing event is scheduled to get underway at 8 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Carl Edwards joined the growing list of multiple point-race winners this Sprint Cup season with a victory on the road course at Sonoma last Sunday.

Jeff Gordon came close to winning as my top favorite and Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded-out the top three with a third-place finish in this race.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Saturday night’s race based on odds provided by Bovada.

The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)

Jimmie Johnson may be the odds-on-favorite to win on Saturday night at 4/1, but I am stretching these odds a bit by going with Dale Earnhardt Jr. as my top favorite at 15/2, which are the third-best odds on the board.

This seems to be the No. 88 car’s year with two previous victories to go along with six more top-five finishes in just 16 point races. It is sitting pretty in third-place in the Sprint Cup standings with 555 points and virtually assured a place in this year’s Chase.

Looking back at Junior’s three previous Sprint Cup runs at this track, the highlight would be a fourth-place finish in 2012.

The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)

I am really high on this week’s pick as top contender with Matt Kenseth coming in at 10/1 odds to win this race. The No. 20 car led the Sprint Cup series in point-race victories last season with seven, but it has yet to cross the finish line first in 2014.

It has come close with five top-five finishes that has this team ranked fourth in total points with 515. The main reason that I am going with Kenseth this week is the fact that he comes into this race as the defending champion. This followed a top-10 finish in both 2011 and 2012 at Kentucky.

The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)

I have used Clint Bowyer as my longshot for few races this year, simply because he is the type of driver that can usually pull-out a win or two each year.

So far this season the No. 15 car has only placed in the top five twice so it is easy to see why this team has been opened at 25/1 odds to break through with a victory this week.

Adding some value to these odds is a third-place finish in last year’s Quaker State 400 after failing to crack the top 10 in his first two trips around this track.
