Oral-B USA 500 Odds from Bovada

Joey Logano proved that he is the real deal with his third checkered flag of the season last Saturday night at Bristol. Brad Keselowski came close to winning again with a second-place finish and Matt Kenseth took third.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday night’s race based on odds provided by Bovada.

Oral-B USA 500 Favorite To Win Odds (Less than 10/1)

Jeff Gordon is in that elite group of drivers that have won three Sprint Cup races this season, but he will look to separate himself from the pack as an 11/2 favorite to capture win number four this Sunday night.

The No. 24 car is also at the top of the current Sprint Cup standings with 845 total points and all-told it has eight top-five finishes on the year.

Adding even more value to these odds is Gordon’s victory in this race in 2011. He followed this up with a second-place run in 2012 and a sixth-place finish in last year’s race.

Oral-B USA 500 Contender To Win Odds (From 10/1 to 19/1)

It is hard to believe that Matt Kenseth is still looking for his first Sprint Cup victory this season after leading the entire field with seven trips to Victory Lane in 2013.

The No. 20 team is holding down the 13th spot in the current standings with 751 points, but the only thing that can guarantee a spot in the Chase is a win in one of the next two races.

Atlanta could be a good place to try and get it with Kenseth’s odds to win listed at 10/1. He finished 12th in last year’s race at Atlanta, but prior to that he placed inside the top 10 in eight of his last 11 Sprint Cup runs at this track.

Oral-B USA 500 Longshot To Win Odds (From 20/1 or greater)

Looking a bit further down Bovada’s list of odds to win this race, the desperation runs a bit deeper as well for a number of drivers who know they need a win to make the Chase.

The one driver that caught my eye at 50/1 odds to win is Paul Menard. This is the true meaning of playing a longshot, but there is some validity in making this pick. He has raced the No. 27 car to four previous top-five finishes this season.

He followed-up a fourth-place finish at Michigan two weeks ago with a ninth-place finish this past Saturday at Bristol so current form is a plus. Menard’s best finish in a Sprint Cup race at Atlanta was fifth in 2010 and he did finish eighth in this race in 2012.
