With the Yankees losing 7 of their last 8 games, they are looking to get back to their winning ways quickly.

Kuroda has gone 0-2 in his last 2 outings, surrendering 9 earned runs to AL West opponents. The bullpen has struggled as well, with the 6 walks given up in the 8th inning in yesterday’s game being par for the course for the Yankees in the last couple weeks.
Offensively, the Angels are down a couple weapons with both Josh Hamilton and David Freese on the 15 day DL. Albert Pujols has been rock solid, though, batting .296 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI. Howie Kendrick is having another strong, but silent season for the Angels so far with a .304 average, 17 RBI and 20 runs scored.

While the Yankees have some run support of their own, they have been less than consistent lately. The biggest example is Derek Jeter who was 4 for his last 30 entering last night’s game. Not to be forgotten, Jacoby Ellsbury has been the Yankees hottest hitter, with a .322 average to go with his 14 RBI and 17 runs.
The Angels and Yankees have had opposite luck the last couple weeks and I expect those trends to continue again tonight.
