Chicago is a team trying to find consistency within the rotation.
They are looking for John Danks to step up and become a true #2 guy behind Mark Buehrle. The bullpen has thrown 7.2 innings this series and has only given up 2 ER’s. Danks went 7.2 innings in a matchup vs. Texas in 2008. The lefty seems to have a way of fooling the Texas batters in the past. Offensively they have been led by Pierzynski and Thome this series. They will look for Konerko to start driving in more runs as he did the week before against Seattle and Toronto. It appears Jermaine Dye will be out with a hand injury.
Texas will be without slugger Josh Hamilton. They will look for Hank Blalock to replace the numbers offensively, which he did yesterday with 4 RBI’s. Matt Harrison only went 2.2 innings last year in his only matchup vs. Chicago. Harrison has given up at least 4 ER’s in every start this year. He also only has 9k’s while walking 12 batters. So while not expecting much from the starter Harrison let’s look at the pen. They have pitched 7.1 innings in the series and have given up 6 ER’s. This fact points towards a big problem for the Rangers.
