I believe the number of rookies they have used this season is up to 14 and no team in the Majors has been forced to use the DL more.
He is not there yet but Alex Rios, one of their few productive hitters this season may be added to the list with a sprained ankle suffered in Toronto.

With all the subs it is amazing that they are 6th in MLB in hitting with a team batting average of .260.
Nothing Rangers starter Miles Mikolas has done this year proves he deserves a regular role on a Major League Club.
In three starts he has an ERA of 10, thanks to a disastrous outing against Houston. His other two were fair at best so it is difficult to have much hope. He is not waking guys but he is getting hit all over the yard.

A couple of years ago he was OK as a reliever for San Diego but this year the Rangers have been stuck so they are using him.

The fact that the Yankees are hanging in there despite mounting losses to the starting rotation has been impressive.
They are percentage points ahead of the Jays and swept the Reds over the weekend, one of the NL’s hottest teams before the break.
Were this a normal season the Yanks would probably go for it but right now they seem to be just hoping what they have is enough to sneak into the playoffs. The deal for Brandon McCarty has had immediate dividends but I wouldn’t expect much else.
The Rangers are not the only team grasping to put together a pitching staff. Injuries have also knocked 4 regulars out of the Yankees rotation leaving them to fill the spots with the likes of Shane Greene, who so far has been very good with a 1.32 ERA.
He is striking out nearly a batter per inning and has not given up many hits so the real question is whether he has something or is just taking advantage of the fact that nobody knows anything about him.
This is a tough one to call given the pitchers involved and the general state of both teams. I am surprised the Yankees are such heavy favourites so it is tempting to take the Rangers but really the smart play here is on the over.
Texas, despite absences is showing to be a pretty good offensive club and New York should jump all over Mikolas.
