The San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals wrap-up their four-game series this Thursday night at Busch Stadium. Game time is set for 8:15 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on the MLB Network.

Coming into Wednesday night’s Game 3, San Francisco split the first two games of this series to move its record to 29-25 overall to remain a half game behind Arizona in the NL West. It is 13-8 at home this season and 16-17 on the road.

The Giants are still trying to adjust to life without Buster Posey, after their All-Star catcher was lost for the season with a broken ankle. They have struggled on offense even with him in the lineup as they are currently ranked 13th in the National League in hitting with a .240 team batting average and tied for last in runs scored with 187. Left hander Jonathan Sanchez will get the start in this one. He is 3-3 in 11 previous starts this season with an ERA of 3.38. Sanchez is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA lifetime against the Cardinals.

St. Louis is leading the NL Central with an overall record of 33-23 and has a 2.5 game lead over Milwaukee and a four game lead over Cincinnati. The Cardinals are an impressive 18-13 on the road and a solid 15-10 at home.

The trio of Lance Berkman, Matt Holliday, and Albert Pujols has combined for 98 RBI and 26 home runs to lead St. Louis to the top of the NL in hitting with a .283 team batting average and 275 runs scored, but Holliday was recently put on the 15-day DL with a sore quad. The Cardinals will send Lance Lynn to the mound to make his Major League debut after an injury to Kyle McClellan opened a hole in the rotation.

Head-to-head, the Giants have won four of six this year and are 5-5 in their last nine games at Busch Stadium.

With Holliday out of the lineup and Lance on the mound for the first time in the Majors, it is a perfect time to make a quick buck on a mild underdog.

MLB Gambling Trends:

SF are 11-4 in their last 15 Thu. games.
Under is 10-1-3 in Sanchezs last 14 road starts.
STL are 10-1 in their last 11 Thu. games.
Under is 8-2 in STL last 10 home games.
STL are 6-2 in their last 8 home games.

The Pick: St. Louis
