He’s 12 starts into his pro career and hasn’t lost yet.
However, his powerful Reds teammates bailed him out in his last start. Leake got torched for 11 hits, two homers and five earned runs over 4.1 innings in his last outing, a no-decision the Reds eventually won 7-6.
Leake’s only other so-so start came against tonight’s opponent, the L.A. Dodgers, back on April 22. Andre Ethier and Garret Anderson both took him deep and he allowed five runs over seven innings.
But the Reds again bailed him out and he wound up winning the game 8-5. 
Leake may not get his usual strong run support tonight. Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw whiffed 11 Reds in seven innings the last time he faced them and has a 2.51 ERA on the road this season.
Now that teams are starting to see Leake the second time around, they’ll make adjustments and get to him more often.
That may happen tonight at Great American Ballpark.
