Dan Haren certainly hasn’t been bad – how can we complain about a 4-1 record? – but he hasn’t quite been the Haren we know so far this season.

Usually, Haren is the most efficient pitcher in baseball aside from Roy Halladay, walking no one, striking guys out and allowing very few hits.
This year, his WHIP is up to 1.22, thanks to a slight rise in his walk rate and a more noteworthy rise in his hit rate. Since he’s struggled at home this year, posting a 5.95 ERA, he once again may not dominate.
I’d expect a quality start but not much more tonight. 
The Dodgers counter with rookie John Ely, who turned heads in his second career start last week by holding the Brewers to one run in 6.2 innings, walking none and striking out seven. There’s a chance he can capitalize on the D-backs, who haven’t faced him before.
Then again, Ely struggled in his only road start this season, allowing five runs in six innings against the Mets.
I’m worried about what lefty sluggers Kelly Johnson and Adam LaRoche might do to the young righty Ely tonight.
I’d expect decent outings from both hurlers but Haren’s pedigree and the home-field advantage should prevail tonight.
