Expect plenty of swings and misses when Yovani Gallardo and Johnny Cueto take their power arsenals to the mound tonight.
Milwaukee’s Gallardo has been exactly as advertised this season, racking up strikeouts (56 in 47 innings), walking lots of batters (23) and being tough to hit (.227). His career stats against the Reds are modest – a 2-1 record, 3.90 ERA and 1.43 WHIP – but he’s been especially stellar on the road this season.
Gallardo is 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA over 23 innings away from Miller Park in 2010. He also has a 2.29 ERA over three career trips to Great American Ballpark. 
Johnny Cueto had the best pitching performance by anyone not named Jimenez or Braden this season in his last start, tossing a one-hit, complete-game shutout against the Pirates.
The powerful Brewers, however, will give the talented Cueto a much tougher test.
He’s allowed five homers in 32.1 career innings against Milwaukee. Prince Fielder really gets to Cueto, batting .429 with two homers and five RBI against him.
Since Prince is hitting up, with two jacks in his last three games, I wouldn’t be surprised if he sent Cueto back to Earth tonight. And the Brewers are due for a win after getting swept at home by the Phillies.
