Tuesday Night Baseball Pick: Los Angeles Angels vs Boston Red Sox

Ervin Santana (1-2, 4.59) vs Jon Lester (1-2, 4.71)

Can they start a run now that ace Jon Lester is on the hill? In his last two starts, Boston’s big lefty has struck out 18 batters over 12.2 scoreless innings. He’s warming up to say the least. But are the Angels his kryptonite? They’ve battered him for 17 earned runs over 19.2 innings. 
But Red Sox supporters panic, it’s worth noting that that only one current Angel regular has more than eight career at-bats against Lester, so the sample size is relatively small.
Also, Lester is a different pitcher at Fenway Park, with a 23-6 lifetime record and 3.31 ERA there.
Even if Lester struggles tonight, he should have decent run support. Ervin Santana is 0-2 with a 6.33 ERA and four homers allowed in four career starts at Fenway Park.
Victor Martinez and David Ortiz have mashed Santana in the past and Adrian Beltre has two homers and seven RBI in 40 at-bats against him.
We could see another barn burner tonight but Lester has been great of late and I don’t trust Santana. Pick Boston.
