Monday Night Baseball Prediction – Tonight, 7:10 p.m. ET
Los Angeles: 12-14 SU
Boston: 11-14 SU

On The Mound Tonight: Joe Saunders (1-4, 5.74) vs Clay Buchholz (2-2, 2.19)
The reason: Joe Saunders. I can’t explain it – he’s supremely overrated, he serves up homers like a mom at a bake sale and his 2010 numbers stink so far – but he always seems to pitch well against Boston. He’s 4-1 with a 3.24 ERA against the Red Sox in eight career starts against them. Even stranger: he’s 3-0 at Fenway Park.
His ugly WHIP totals against Boston do suggest he’s lucky but he seems to be lucky every time out.
Boston counters with rising star Clay Buchholz, who is starting to deliver on the promise he showed when he tossed a no-hitter as a rookie a few years back.
He has a 2.19 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 24.2 innings so far this season.
He’s solid at Fenway (6-6, 3.72) in his career but he does struggle against the potent Angels lineup. 
The Halos have beaten him up to the tune of a 6.35 ERA over three starts.
A patient righty hitter like Bobby Abreu is just the type of guy who can give Buchholz fits.
It defies logic to ever bet on Saunders but he’s due for a good start and history suggests it’ll come against Boston.
Consequently, Buchholz is due for an off night.
