Philadelphia comes into this series with four wins in its last six games including a 14-1 pounding of Atlanta as a 176 home favorite in its last game before the break. The Phillies are now an MLB-best 57-34 on the year and have opened a 3.5 game lead over the Braves in the division. They are 34-15 at home and 23-19 on the road.

Pitching has been the driving force for Philadelphia over the first 90+ games of the year with not only a dominating starting rotation but a resilient bullpen as well. The Phillies are ranked first in the Majors with a team ERA of just 3.02.

Vance Worley, who is slated to get the start for Philadelphia, found his way into the starting rotation due to the ailing back of Roy Oswalt. He has made the most of his opportunity with four wins in eight starts and a 2.20 ERA. Worley was shelled by the Mets in late May; giving up five earned runs on 12 hits in just three innings of work.

New York battled its way to one game over .500 (46-45) heading into the break, but finds itself 11 games in back of the Phillies in the division. It is a respectable 27-23 on the road this season, but just 19-22 at home.

The Mets have remained competitive behind a lineup that is averaging 4.38 runs per game, which has helped to compensate for a pitching staff that is ranked ninth in the NL with a team ERA of 3.95. R.A. Dickey is scheduled to be on the mound in this one. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

He is 4-7 in 18 starts this year with an ERA of 3.61. His last time out against San Francisco, he gave up two earned runs on seven hits in seven innings of work. Dickey is 2-2 against Philadelphia with a 2.25 ERA.

Head-to-head this season, the Phillies hold a 6-3 edge overall and are 2-1 at Citi Field. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the nine games overall and in two of three in New York.

Stick with the Phillies in this one as Worley atones for his last outing by shutting down New York this time around.
