New York
With three starters in the disabled list they are still not getting great pitching as they allowed 4, 5 and 7 runs in their victories.
The fact is this team is doing it a bit with smoke and mirrors right now. When you can remember a Yankees team that was 17th in home runs and 5th in steals. They are kind of backwards.

New York keeps reaching deeper and deeper for arms. Starter Shane Greene is making his first MLB start and hopefully he has recovered from this MLB debut in which he walked three Red Sox while getting only one out.
The fact is his minor league numbers hardly suggest someone who should be pitching for a contending club but the Yankees are desperate. I am surprised the line on this one isn’t bigger.

Cleveland
The Indians took two of three from Kansas City in a big series in the AL Central. They are now just a couple of games back as they look to prove that last year was not a total fluke. The Indians placed Michael Bourn on the disabled list on Sunday.
Even though he was having a mediocre season he could still be a threat with his speed. One guy who is not having a mediocre season is Michael Brantley.
He leads the team in every significant offensive category, including steals – he has yet to be thrown out this season.
In a season in which he was hoping to cash in Justin Masterson has been mostly terrible.
If the Indians are going to be a factor at all in the second half they need him to do better than his current 5.16 ERA. About the only thing he has done well this season is keep the ball in the ballpark, otherwise all of his peripherals are terrible.
One thing to know is that he has been acceptable at home this season.
With these pitchers and these teams anything can happen this season. I am banking on the fact that Masterson can be good enough at home while Greene is a total mystery and not a super talented one.
The over is good too as I don’t expect either pitcher to be “masterful”.
The total has gone over in 3 of Masterson’s last 4.
Total projection: Over
Score projection: Cleveland 7 – New York 5
