Both of them sit a close second in their respective divisions so far this year. Both teams have won eight of their last ten games heading into this series.

This is one of the better Interleague matchups this week.

The Yankees swept the Mets this past weekend in what was a very important series for the team. New York’s offense has heated up again of late after a brief cold stretch. The Yankees lead the majors with 92 homers in 2012. Derek Jeter continues to lead the team with a .317 batting average.

Curtis Granderson has 18 home runs. After a slow start, Robinson Cano is hitting the ball extremely well right now. C.C. Sabathia hasn’t been dominating, but he has been consistently good this year. Sabathia is 7-3 with a 3.69 ERA so far this season. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Atlanta is glad to have Chipper Jones back in the lineup after his trip to the disabled list. Jones is well past his prime, but he is still a major force to be reckoned with in the middle of the Braves lineup. Michael Bourn is one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball, and he has done a great job setting the table for this offense in 2012.

Bourn is hitting .320 on the season, and he has 16 stolen bases. Dan Uggla is red hot after starting the season slowly. Uggla leads the team with 41 RBI’s. Mike Minor is a talented young pitcher for Atlanta, but he has been awful of late.

Minor has given up 36 runs in his last seven starts. He has allowed 14 home runs in just 11 starts.

Sabathia has consistent this year, while Minor has been getting torched. The Yankees appear to have a big edge in this one.

MLB Free Pick: Yankees -1.5
