Both the Twins and Rays are pushing for an American League Wild Card spot as the two teams begin their series on Tuesday night inside the Trop. With both teams fighting for positioning, neither of them can afford to lose a series here.
Currently, Minnesota sits 1.5 out, while the Rays find themselves just 2.5 back.

The recent success for the Twins has countered a cold streak they endured in the beginning of August as they have gotten themselves back into the AL Wild Card race. After sweeping the Orioles over the weekend, the Twins will go for their 5th straight win Tuesday night.
Minnesota had 3 straight 1 run victories in their 4 game sweep of Baltimore and the sweep comes as a giant surprise as they now have a road record of 25-37 on the season.

Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays are the definition of a middle of the pack team. Sitting with a .500 record at 62-62, Tampa Bay is both 31-31 on the road and at home.
