Meanwhile, the Twins pitching staff has posted a 2.43 ERA in the last six games and send starter Kyle Gibson to the mound in game one. The right-hander is 3-0 in his last three starts, after starting the season with three losses through his first five appearances.

Gibson went five innings against Cleveland on April 5, giving up just three hits and one run in a 7-3 victory. This will be the 26-year-old’s first appearance against the Giants during his short two-year MLB career.

The Giants will counter with righty Tim Lincecum, who after a rocky start to the 2014 campaign, has turned up the heat, winning four of his last five starts.

The 29-year-old has registered 52 strikeouts over 49.1 inning pitches, walking 18, while posting a 4.74 ERA.

He is 1-0 in as many starts against the Twins, allowing just three hits and no runs.

The San Francisco Giants lead the NL West, and didn’t get much rest as they returned home later than expected on Thursday when their game in Colorado was suspended in the sixth inning after a pair of rain delays totaling nearly three hours.

They will now begin a six-game home stand, facing the Twins for the first time since 2011. They had good success in their previous interleague encounters this season after going 6-14 against the American League in 2013.
