Texas Rangers vs. Oakland A’s Preview

1. The Rangers only managed 3 base runners in yesterday’s loss to the Rangers.
2. Rangers’ starter Colby Lewis struck out 7 in 7 innings in a 2-1 win over the A’s the last time facing them and that game was in Texas.
3. In yesterday’s 8-0 win the A’s cranked out 11 hits and had 2 HR.

This season the A’s are 1-0 at home and the Rangers are 0-1 on the road.

In their last games the A’s beat the Rangers 8-0 in yesterday’s game, which was the first of the season for both teams.

The A’s got off to a great start this season with their opening win over the Rangers where Oakland starter Sonny Gray took a no-hitter into the 8th inning in the 8-0 win. That win snapped a 10-game losing streak for the A’s on opening day. In this game they are, again, the home betting favorite.

The Rangers lost yesterday, but have taken 7 of their last 10 games against the A’s in Oakland.

Oakland starter Hahn was with the Padres last season and was 7-4 with an ERA of 3.07. After his first start last season where he struggled he went 7-2 with a 2.08 ERA in 10 starts before struggling again in his last outing of the season.

Bovada

Hahn had an ERA of 3.06 in 5 outings this Spring Training.

Last season Lewis was 10-14 with an ERA of 5.18 and in his career facing the A’s he has had success going 8-4 with an ERA of 3.32 in 20 starts.

The A’s are off to a 1-0 start and the Rangers are only 4-9 in Lewis’ last 13 starts vs. a team with a winning record.

Hahn is a right-hand pitcher and the Rangers have only won 8 of their last 31 road games facing righties.

Ben Zobrist was one of the bigger acquisitions the A’s made in the off-season and he had a HR and a double in yesterday’s game.

In his career facing Lewis he is 3 for 6 with 2 doubles.

MLB Betting Trends

* Texas is 5-2 in their last 7 road games.
* Texas is 13-4 in their last 17 overall.
* Oakland is 7-19 in their last 26 games following a win.
* Oakland is 22-10 in their last 32 home games vs. a right-handed starter.
* Oakland has an Over record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 games.

4* Cappers MLB Free Pick

Lewis won the last game facing the A’s but Hahn will have a good start tonight and the Rangers’ offense will struggle for a 2nd straight game and Oakland will take Game 2 of this opening series.
