Oakland A’s vs. Detroit Tigers Preview

1. The Tigers have lost 5 straight games.
2. In their 5-game losing streak the Tigers have given up 31 runs.
3. The A’s have won 8 of their last 11 games.

This season the Tigers are 14-13 at home and the A’s are 12-16 on the road.

In yesterday’s Game 1 of this 3-game series the A’s beat the Tigers 5-3.

On May 22nd the A’s has the worst record in baseball, but with their starting posting an ERA of only 1.53 in their last 11 games they have won 8 in that span. They open up at even odds tonight facing the Tigers and the main reason is that they have staff Ace Sonny Gray getting the start.

The Tigers are reeling losing 5 straight and with their skid they are now in 3rd place in the AL Central 3.5 games back of the Minnesota Twins. However, a couple of weeks ago they took 3 of 3 games against the A’s in Oakland.

Bovada

The Tigers have won 6 of their last 8 games against the A’s and the Game 1 loss in this series was their first against Oakland at home in their last 5 games.

Gray ranks 2nd in the American League in ERA and since last season he is 9-4 with an ERA of 2.45 on the road. Last season he faced the Tigers in his first career start against them and in Oakland he gave up 4 earned runs in 6 innings and got a no decision in a 6-5 A;s loss.

In Gray’s last start he gave up 2 earned runs in 8 innings of work in a 6-2 win over the New York Yankees. The A’s are only 2-5 in Gray’s last 7 road starts facing a team with a winning record.

The Tigers have lost 3 straight games with Sanchez getting the start and while he had given up 7 earned runs in each of his last 2 starts before his last one when he only gave up 2, but got no help and Detroit lost 2-0 to the L.A. Angels.

The Tigers have lost 5 of their last 7 games against the A’s when Sanchez is on the mound.

In looking at the stats for the A’s you would not think they would be 12 games under .500, as they rank 10th in runs scored 12th in team ERA.

MLB Betting Trends
