Chicago White Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers Preview

1. The White Sox have not won 2 straight road games this season.
2. The Brewers had their 3-game winning streak snapped in their last game.
3. The Brewers are 6-4 in their last 10 games.

This season the Brewers are 8-14 at home and the White Sox are 3-12 on the road.

Yesterday these 2 teams met in Game 2 of the 3-game series and the White Sox beat the Brewers 4-2.

The Brewers fired their manager a couple of weeks back and while they still are in last place in the NL Central they have won 3 of their last 4 games and 6 of their last 10. They open tonight at home as the slight betting favorite facing a White Sox team that has also won 3 of their last 4 games.

Jose Quintana goes for the White Sox tonight and while he has been solid as of late he has lost 2 straight starts. In his last 3 starts he has a legit ERA of 2.37, but his offense has failed to help him out only giving him 3 runs of support in his last 4 outings.

Quintana only has one career start against the Brewers and that was back in 2012 when he did not give up any runs in 8 innings of work in a 1-0 win over Milwaukee.

The White Sox are 2-6 in Quintana’s last 8 road starts.

Jimmy Nelson gets the starting nod for the Brewers and in his last start he did strike out 11, which was a career high, but gave up 4 earned runs on 3 HR in the 7-6 loss to the Cubs.

The White Sox have struggled at the plate and on the mound this season, as they rank 28th in the Majors in runs scored and 26th in team ERA.

The Brewers rank 19th in the Majors in runs scored and in their 3-game win streak before their last loss to the White Sox they had combined to score 25 runs. Milwaukee ranks 25th in team ERA.

The White Sox have won 11 of their last 14 games against the Brewers and 6 of their last 8 facing them in Milwaukee.
