Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on the MLB Network.

San Francisco has already been the victim of two walk-off losses in this series heading into Wednesday’s Game 3.  The Giants followed up a 5-4 loss as a 128 road underdog on Monday night with a 2-1 extra innings loss on Tuesday as a 131 dog. They are now 3.5 games in back of Arizona in the NL West with an overall record of 66-57. San Francisco is 35-25 at home and 31-32 on the road.

To add to the Giants’ woes, both Carlos Beltran and Sergio Tejada have been added to the ever-growing list of players currently on the DL. Fortunately, the Giants will have their ‘ace’ Tim Lincecum on the mound for the series finale. He has allowed over one run just once in his last seven starts and is sporting a 1.37 ERA in his last 10 games. Lincecum is 11-9 on the year with an ERA of 2.58. He is 6-3 with a 3.34 ERA against the Braves in his career.

Atlanta has kept its faint hope of catching Philadelphia in the NL East alive with seven wins in its last 10 games. The Braves trail the Phillies by 7.5 games with an overall record of 72-51, but they now have a six-game lead over the Giants in the wildcard race. Atlanta is 35-27 on the road this season and 37-24 at home. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Discounting the two runs scored in Tuesday’s victory, Atlanta’s bats have come to life in the month of August with an average of 5.21 runs in its last 14 games as compared to its season average of just 4.16. Pitching has remained solid with a team ERA of 3.39, which is third-best in the National League.

Mike Minor will get the call in this one for the Braves. The left-hander has eight previous starts on the year after spending part of the summer in Triple-A Gwinnett and is 2-2 with a 4.84 ERA. He has given up seven earned runs on 16 hits in 11.1 innings since being called back up earlier this month.

Head-to-head this season, the Braves have now won all five meetings heading into Wednesday’s game. The total stayed ‘under’ the 8.5-run line on Tuesday night, but has gone ‘over’ in three of the other four games.

Lincecum remains on a roll as the Giants get a much needed win in the final game of this series.
