The Blue Jays and Nationals meet in the rubber match of their 3 game set on Wednesday night. Mark Buehrle and Taylor Jordan will oppose one another as Toronto tries to grab a road series win for the first time since the beginning of the season.

Toronto has gone just 2-8 over their last 10 road games, but knocked off Nationals ace Max Scherzer in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Washington Nationals

The Blue Jays road woes have led them to 4th place in the AL East. They bring in a 10-18 road record and haven’t recorded a road series win since they beat Baltimore back in April. They’ll try to fix that with a win on Wednesday as they send southpaw Mark Buehrle to the hill.

Mark Buehrle has had a decision in every start of his 2015 campaign. He got back into the win column last time out against the Minnesota Twins as he went a complete game allowing 6 hits and 4 runs in a 6-4 victory. Buehrle threw 111 pitches in complete game, which matched a season high in pitch count.

In his career against the Nationals, Buehrle is 2-0 with a 4.64 ERA.

Blue Jays 1B Chris Colabello will look to push his hitting streak to 14 games on Wednesday night.

For the Nationals, they’ll send Taylor Jordan to the mound, who will replace the injured Stephen Strasburg in the rotation.

Jordan was thrown into the gauntlet in his last start after Strasburg exited early in the game. Jordan went 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 3 runs in a 5-2 loss to the Reds.

With normal circumstances back into play on Wednesday, Taylor Jordan will try to put in a good performance as he’ll likely get 3-4 starts in the rotation. Jordan has never really had much success as a starter in his career as he went 0-3 with a  5.61 ERA in 2014 and 1-3 with a 3.66 ERA in 2013.

The Nationals did split the twin bill yesterday, but their offense is still struggling as a whole. SS Ian Desmond highlights those struggles as he is 1 for 15 in his last 4 games.

MLB Handicapping Trends:

  • Blue Jays are 20-41 in their last 61 road games vs. a right-handed starter.
  • Blue Jays are 17-35 in their last 52 road games.
  • Nationals are 17-5 in their last 22 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5.
  • Nationals are 38-14 in their last 52 interleague games as a favorite of -110 to -150.

Free 4* MLB Pick: Toronto -120

The Blue Jays should have no problem getting to Taylor Jordan on Wednesday.

Toronto 6, Washington 2

His numbers aren’t very good and he has never really gained any momentum. Back the Blue Jays in the rubber match.
