The Rockies welcome in the San Diego Padres as they attempt to rebound from a weekend sweep. San Diego looks to continue its winning ways as they’ve won 3 straight series’. The Padres will send Odrisamer Despaign to the mound, who is likely going to be making his last start for a while as he has been a spot starter.

He will look to put an end to his road woes as he has struggled mightily on the road in his career.

San Diego Padres

The Padres are doing what every team’s goal is throughout the entire season, win series’. After dropping 2 of 3 to the Dodgers, the Padres have taken 3 of 4 from San Francisco, 2 of 3 from Arizona, and 2 of 3 from Chicago. They’ll look to win the opening game of a series for the 2nd straight time as they get set to take on Colorado.

The Padres will send spot starter Odrisamer Despaigne to the mound, who will be making his 2nd and probably last spot start for the Padres.

Despaigne had a stellar opening start going 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits and 1 run in a win over Arizona. He’ll look to build off that and put an end to his road struggles.

Despaigne is 0-6 with a 6.37 ERA in his last 7 road starts. This will be his first appearance at Coors Field.

In one start against Colorado, Despaigne went 7 scoreless innings in a 4-1 win.

San Diego hopes their offense can keep rolling, especially Will Middlebrooks, who notched a home run in the finale win over Chicago. Last time Middlebrooks appeared at Coors Field, he had a career high 7 RBI game, with 2 home runs.

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies had a weekend to forget in Los Angeles as they were swept away by the Dodgers, while only scoring 6 runs in the losing effort. They’ll look to rebound when they welcome back Jorge De La Rosa from the DL. The left hander will be starting a place where he has had major success.

Jorge De La Rosa is 45-14 with a 3.98 ERA in his career inside Coors Field. Combined in the past two seasons, De La Rosa has totaled 30 wins.

In 2014, he went 14-11 with a 4.10 ERA. At Coors Field last season, he went 10-2 with a 3.08 ERA.

The Rockies hope Justin Morneau can get himself going, as he is hitting just .214 on the season. He has had a lot of success against San Diego, batting .408 in his last 20 contests against the Padres.

Free 4* MLB Baseball Pick: Colorado -126

While it is sometimes the wrong idea to back a pitcher just off the DL, Jorge De La Rosa is just too good at Coors Field.

Colorado 8, San Diego 3

The Rockies put the brakes on their 3 game losing streak and knock off the Padres.
