The home and home series portion in Baltimore wraps up on Tuesday when the Phillies and Orioles get set to do battle. Baltimore had their way on Monday as they shut out the Phillies 4-0 and have now won 7 of 8 and 9 of their last 11.

The Phillies have lost 8 of 11 against the Orioles and continue to struggle this season as they’ve dropped to 21 games below the .500 not even half way through the season.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Baltimore Orioles

Two teams heading in absolute opposite directions get set to square off on Tuesday night at Camden Yards. Philadelphia knew this season would be a tough, rebuilding one, but even they probably didn’t expect to be 21 games under the .500 mark so quick. As for Baltimore, they keep on rolling and now sit a game above the .500 mark in a crowded AL East.

Philadelphia will send right hander Jerome Williams to the mound, who has struggled mightily this season. Sitting with a near 6 ERA, the Phillies right hander hasn’t recorded a win since May 16th.

The Phillies have lost Williams’ last 5 starts as he’s failed to surrender less than 3 runs in any of those 5 games.

In seven career appearances against Baltimore, Williams has gone 4-2 with a 4.71 ERA. He’ll need to keep his pitches down more as he’s allowed 5 home runs combined in his last 3 starts.

As for Baltimore, Chris Tillman has been no better. The Baltimore right hander is 4-7 with a 5.68 ERA thus far. He has however gotten himself going lately as he’s won his last 2 starts.

Tillman beat Boston and Cleveland going 5.2 and 6.1 respectively as he dodged his way out of trouble many times.

Tillman has been a mess at home this season however as he’s just 1-4 with a 7.28 ERA inside Camden Yards this season. Luckily for Tillman, Philadelphia has been a terrible road team this season. They are 7-27 S.U. away from home and are averaging just 2.74 runs per road contest.

Over their last 47 innings of baseball played, the Phillies have manufactured just 3 runs.

During their current skid, they’ve hit just .150 with runners in scoring position.

MLB Handicapping Trends:

  • Phillies are 19-41 in their last 60 games vs. a right-handed starter.
  • Phillies are 17-37 in their last 54 games as an underdog.
  • Orioles are 4-1 in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
  • Orioles are 22-7 in their last 29 interleague home games.

Free 4* MLB Pick: Baltimore -210

Yes laying this much juice is quite ridiculous. However, Philadelphia is just bad.

Baltimore 8, Philadelphia 1

They are a mess and aren’t even putting up fights offensively. Lay the juice and grab an easy winner here. (Feel risky? Bet the O’s to cover on the Run line)
