A night after a pitchers’ duel broke out in Baltimore, the Red Sox and Orioles are back at it for game 2 of the set between the two teams. Boston will look to bounce back after scrapping out just 5 hits and losing on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 7th that allowed the only run to score.

The Red Sox offense has been so inconsistent this season, it’s really starting to become a mind game for them. Tuesday was just another episode in the inconsistency game as they manufactured just 5 hits and couldn’t solve the Baltimore pitching. They’ll send Rick Porcello to the mound to try and get this series evened up.
Porcello was a high priced free agent that signed for nearly 82 million dollars with Boston. His 4-5, 5.01 ERA was not what the front office imagined would be happening.

Porcello has lost 3 straight starts, but did show some signs of returning to old form against the Twins. Porcello was the tough luck loser going 8.0 innings allowing just 2 runs, but Boston couldn’t hit once again and the Red Sox fell 2-0.
Porcello faced Baltimore twice already this season, receiving a loss and no decision.
For Baltimore, they’re slowly putting together some wins. They’ve won 4 of 5 and trail by just 5.5 games in the AL East.
Baltimore will send out Wei-Yin Chen to try and make it 5 of 6 on Wednesday night.
Chen has been involved in some low scoring games, which in turn has led him to a lot of no decisions as he’s just not getting the run support. Chen went 6.1 innings last time against the Astros, allowing just 2 runs, but Baltimore couldn’t get him the victory.
Chen faced Boston on April 20th and was knocked around for 5 runs (0 earned). The defense let him down, but he was given the loss in a 7-1 route.
