The Giants send out Madison Bumgarner in this one, and the month of June has been very kind to him in his career. San Francisco is 9-3 in Bumgarner’s 12 career road starts in the month of June, including four consecutive victories in that situation.

Bumgarner ranks sixth in the majors in wins since 2011 with 67, while his mound counterpart on Wednesday, Felix Hernandez, is tied for eighth with 63. Both players rank inside the top 10 in strikeouts and ERA in that period of time.

Hernandez has been off his game of late though.

He had what may have been the worst start of his career his last time out, surrendering eight runs and two home runs while recording only one out in a 10-0 loss at the Houston Astros on Friday.

Just three starts before that, Hernandez gave up seven runs over 4 2/3 innings of work in a 7-2 loss to the New York Yankees.

Over his last eight starts, he has a 4.50 ERA, giving up nine home runs in 48 innings – nearly a full home run per nine innings higher than his career average.

FREE Giants vs. Mariners Pick:

This game is all about the pitching matchup on the mound, and the Giants’ ace has been in better form than the Mariners’.

Seattle has also been having a ton of trouble picking up victories in their own ballpark.

With that said, this is still a battle between aces facing sputtering offenses in a pitcher-friendly park, making the under worth a look, even at a low number.

MLB Betting Trends:

The Giants are 11-1 in Bumgarner’s last 12 starts against opponents with a losing record, and they are 23-6 in his last 29 road starts.

[dfads params=’groups=63745&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Giants are 6-1 in their last seven games as a road underdog, and they are 19-7 in Bumgarner’s last 26 starts overall.

The Mariners are 1-8 in their last nine home games, and they are 1-9 in their last 10 games as a favorite.

The under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings between these teams in Seattle, and it is 24-8-2 in Hernandez’s last 34 starts overall.

The under is 8-1-1 in Hernandez’s last 10 home starts, and it is 21-5-1 in Hernandez’s last 27 starts with the total set at 6.5 or lower.

The under is 49-21-3 in the Mariners’ last 73 home games, and it is 36-15-5 in their last 56 games against a left-handed starter.
