The red-hot Chicago Cubs host the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night in what was supposed to be the second of a four-game set. Monday night’s game at Wrigley Field was postponed until Friday after being rained out.

The Indians (29-33) are making their first trip to Wrigley Field since 2009, and are losers of five of their last seven.

In the meantime, the Cubs’ Starlin Castro’s late-inning heroics helped continued to build the excitement around a young Chicago (34-27) team that has won six of their last eight to move to a season-best seven games above .500.

Castro’s game-ending RBI singles in Saturday’s 4-3 victory and Sunday’s 3-2 win in extra innings, allowed the Cubbies to take three of four from Cincinnati over the weekend.

They will look to keep their streak alive by sending right-hander Jake Arrieta to the mound on Tuesday. The 29-year-old has won two straight starts, giving up just three runs last time out at Detroit after allowing only one run in his previous outing against the Nationals. Arrieta is 1-0 with 9.20 ERA, while allowing at least five runs in each meeting he has had with the Indians.

Meanwhile, the Tribe will go with a righty of their own in Trevor Bauer, who struggled through his worst outing of the season his last time out. The 24-year-old gave up six runs in 3 2/3 innings in a 9-3 loss to Seattle. This will be his first start against the Indians since 2012 while with Baltimore.

Bauer will hope that newcomer shortstop Francisco Lindor will provide some needed offense.

Lindor, who was batting .417 in his final 13 games before being called up, is expected to make his first big-league start after going 1-for-2 in his major-league debut Sunday.

Matt’s Free 4* MLB Prediction

Cubs — Chicago has won two straight one-run games on walk-off hits, improving to 17-11 in one-run contests. The Indians are struggling putting runs on the board, plating just six in their last four. So I look for another exciting Chicago finish here, as the Cubs edge out the Indians 4-3.
