2012 White Sox vs Cardinals Betting Preview

Interleague baseball continues during the middle of the week this week. The White Sox and Cardinals aren’t separated by very much space on the map, but they don’t get a chance to play each other very often.

In fact, they have played just one series against each other in the past ten years.

Let’s take a look at the second game of this series.

The Chicago White Sox have been much better than most anticipated this year.

The White Sox actually have a losing record at home, but they are 17-9 on the road. Jake Peavy is 6-1 with a 3.05 ERA so far in 2012. Peavy has ten quality starts in his 12 outings this year. He is 3-0 with a 1.75 ERA on the road.

Adam Dunn had a miserable 2011, but he is back to bashing home runs in 2012. Dunn leads the team with 20 homers and 46 RBI’s. Paul Konerko is hitting an amazing .365.

Alejandro De Aza gives this team a terrific leadoff hitter to set the table for the rest of the lineup. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

St. Louis started the season hot, but they have cooled off over the past month. The Cardinals sit in third place in the National League Central behind the Reds and the Pirates. The offense has been terrific all year for St. Louis, but the pitching staff has been a little bit of a disappointment.

Lance Lynn has actually been the team’s best pitcher in 2012. Lynn is 9-2 with a 2.66 ERA. He has just 26 walks and 74 strikeouts on the season.

Yadier Molina is having his best offensive season of his career. He is hitting .330 so far this year. Rafael Furcal is having a great bounce back year at the top of the order.

Carlos Beltran is looking like his old self in the middle of the order. Allen Craig is back healthy again, and he leads the team with a .345 batting average.

Both of these pitchers have been great all year, and it’s tough to see either team putting up too many runs here. Look for a low scoring game in this one.
