Boston
20 runs to the Mariners at SafeCo is pretty pathetic and it was a surprise as the pitching has been solid for most of the season.

Its the offense that has been the most disappointing this year as beyond David Ortiz it has been pretty lifeless.
Not helping is that Shane Victorino is on the DL.

Brandon Workman has been very good on his first real tour through the big leagues as a starter. He has proven hard to hit – just 23 hits allowed over 34 innings – which has kept his ERA nice and low, 2.88. Despite that he has just one win over 5 starts.
The next step in his development is going to be working deeper into games as he has yet to pitch 7 full innings in a start this season. The Yankees have yet to see him this season.
New York
The Yankees are continuing their up and down season of late.
Last week they won 4 straight against Toronto and Baltimore but after losing 4 straight against the same clubs they are right back where they started from – third place in the AL East.
They broke their losing streak by taking their final game in Toronto and now the Red Sox are coming to town for one of the least meaningful series between these rivals in quite some time. This team just can’t put together any sort of run but they are hanging in there.
The Yankees have three of their starters out of commission which is why Vidal Nuno is getting so much run. Since joining the rotation at the end of April he is just 1-4. He is getting hit really hard lately with 5 homers allowed in his last two starts against Oakland and Baltimore.
As a lefty at Yankee Stadium that is not supposed to happen but he has just not been very effective. As long as he is on the mound the Yankees are a good fade candidate.
I like the value with Boston in this one as Nuno has been getting lit up like a pinata lately. The over is nice too as Workman, despite his solid numbers is hardly Pedro in his prime.
This is Boston vs. New York and it hardly generates any buzz, amazing.
Still there is no reason not to try and cash a little.
