Mike Napoli drove in four runs and slugger David Ortiz hit a two-run homer while starting pitcher John Lackey (1-0) tossed six solid innings, giving up just two runs and three hits in his first start since winning Game 6 of last year’s World Series.
Lackey also struck out six and had only one walk before Boston’s relievers shot the door with three no run innings.

On Thursday the Red Sox will go with lefty Felix Doubront who is 1-2 in five starts lifetime against the Orioles with a 4.54 ERA.
Fatigue and health have been the 26-year-old’s is biggest issues during his career, but showed he had the right stuff after tossing seven innings, allowing one run over four relief appearances in the 2013 playoffs. Turns out, he was a pretty good reliever, so the Red Sox have moved him back into the starting rotation.
The Orioles will counter with left-hander Wei-Yin Chen who has yet to win a game against Boston in four starts, posting an 0-2 record with a 7.29 ERA. The 28-year-old has given up 33 hits and 17 runs to the Sox lifetime.
He pitched well at beginning of last year, but he was 1-4 with a 5.55 ERA in final 11 starts.
However, there is a sense that Chen took a step backward last year because he missed two months in the summer with an oblique strain and finished the season with bone chips in his right knee.
