MLB World Series 2009 – Who you Got?

The 2008 MLB season turned out to be a flat-out thriller on the field and in the BetUS Sportsbook in 2008 as the Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays reached the annual fall classic in their respective leagues, setting the baseball world on its collective ear as surprise (but totally deserving) participants.

Analysis: I know I’m not going out on a limb much, but I’ll eat my words, no, make that my keyboard, if one of the four aforementioned AL teams in my ‘leading contenders’ category doesn’t win the AL Pennant in 2009, I’m just not certain it will be the Yankees as some are already deeming.

I fully expect the Red Sox, Rays and Angels to give the Yankees all they can handle and then some in 2009.

Over in the National League, I like the Cubs first and foremost to get over the ‘choke pill’ they took in last season’s playoffs, though I’m certainly not counting out either the defending-champion Phillies or New York Mets.

While the top six teams on the board here are my favorites to win it all in 2009, I will readily admit that the 2009 season could produce another surprise of epic proportions as it did in 2008 when the Tampa Bay Rays capitalized on years of solid drafting and grooming within their organization to win the AL East in convincing fashion.

The Florida Marlins are the National League’s version of a young and talented team that has been built through its excellent farm system.

I think the D-Backs and Dodgers could contend, particularly Arizona with its pitching. I never count out Tony LaRussa’s Cardinals and as everyone in baseball knows, the A’s have a plethora of talented young arms, (too bad they keep trading them).

In short, BetUS MLB baseball bettors can expect a thrilling fight to the finish in both leagues that could be highly profitable in the end for the MLB bettor who nails this season-long MLB Futures pick just right.
