MLB Betting Parlay – Marlins vs. Nationals + Cardinals vs. Pirates

MLB Betting Previews – Tuesday, April 19 Parlay

The 2012 MLB regular schedule takes us into the third weekend in April with a couple of early season divisional battles on the slate.

After carefully studying the lines for Friday’s game, we uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get your weekend off to a strong start.

Game 1- Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals
Money Line: Miami +125      Toronto -135
Total Line: 8

Miami will send Carlos Zambrano to the mound in this one. While he does not come into this game with his best stuff, the fiery right-hander has been effective in his first two starts with an ERA of 3.75 in 12 innings of work. He is 8-3 against the Nationals with a 3.35 ERA.

Ross Detwiler is slated to get the start for Washington. The left-hander is coming off a rough outing in which he gave up five runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings pitched.

This followed a solid performance in his season opener in which he held the Mets scoreless through five innings.

The Marlins are 7-2 in their last nine trips to Washington and have won nine of the last 14 meetings overall. Look for Zambrano to win the battle on the mound as the Marlins secure the front-end of the parlay with the win.  [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2- St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Money Line: St. Louis -115      Pittsburgh +105
Total Line: 7.5

St.Louis will try and extend its lead in the NL Central with Lance Lynn as its starter in this divisional series opener.

The right-hander has pitched lights out so far while filling in for the injured Chris Carpenter with a perfect 2-0 start behind an ERA of just 1.50. He has given-up just two earned runs on six hits in 12 innings pitched.

Charlie Morton will be making his second start of the season for Pittsburgh. He gave-up three earned runs on seven hits in five innings against San Francisco his first time out in a no-decision. Lifetime against the Cardinals, Morton is 2-5 with an ERA of 6.25.

St. Louis is off to a blistering start with nine wins in its first 12 games. It has beaten the Pirates in six of the last eight meetings overall and is 3-1 in its last four trips to Pittsburgh.

The Cardinals use their edge on the mound as well as their ability to hit the ball all over the park to take Game 1 in this series and wrap-up the back-end of this parlay.
