Tuesday MLB Betting Parlay – Phillies vs. Nationals, Cardinals vs. Rockies

MLB Betting Previews- Tuesday, July 31 Parlay

As the month of July winds-down, the MLB divisional and wildcard races continue to heat-up as contending teams jockey for position for a potential spot in the postseason.

After carefully analyzing all the pitching matchups for Tuesday’s slate of games, we have uncovered a two-team parlay that should be able to get your week off to a profitable start.

Game 1- Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals
Money Line: Philadelphia +125 Washington -140
Total Line: 7

Matchup | Preview

The floundering Phillies are buried in last place in the NL East, but they will try and take-down the division leaders in Game 1 of this series with Cliff Lee on the mound. For the most part, the left-hander has pitched well this season with a 3.95 ERA but only has a 1-6 record to show for his efforts. His ERA has ballooned to 5.10 in his last seven outings, but he is 3-2 with a 2.89 ERA against Washington.

The Nationals have expanded their lead over Atlanta to four games in the NL East with an 8-2 record in their last 10 games. They will counter in this matchup with their ace Stephen Strasburg getting the start. The right-handed phenom is 11-4 with a 2.76 ERA in 20 starts this season. He has given-up more than three earned runs just once in his last 10 outings.

Philadelphia is 2-9 in the last 11 meetings and 2-6 in its last eight games in Nationals Park. Count on Strasburg once again getting the job done to help Washington secure the early edge in this series win a relatively easy victory in the front-end of this parlay. Game 2 – St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies
Money Line: St. Louis -125 Colorado +115
Run Line: 7.5

Matchup | Preview

St. Louis will look to snap a two-game skid with Kyle Lohse as their starter for Tuesday’s Game 1 of this series. The right-hander is 10-2 this season with a 2.71 ERA. He has now posted 10-straight quality starts after holding the Dodgers to two runs this past Wednesday. He is 4-3 against Colorado with an ERA of 3.38.

The Rockies are bringing up the rear in the NL West and already riding out the string with just two wins in their last 10 games. They are slated to send Jeff Francis to the mound in this one. The left-hander gave-up two earned runs on five hits to Arizona his last time out to get the win and move to 3-2 on the year with a 4.97 ERA. He is 6-1 against the Cardinals with an ERA of just 3.09.

St. Louis is just 3-8 in its last 11 games in Colorado, while the Rockies have beaten the Cardinals six-straight times with Francis on the mound. Stick with the past trends as Colorado extends its winning streak to seven lock-up the back-end of Tuesday night’s parlay. Colorado 3 St. Louis 2
