Tuesday MLB Betting Parlay – Mets vs. Nationals, Giants vs. Braves

MLB Betting Previews – Tuesday, July 17 Parlay

The MLB divisional races continue to heat up as the second half of the regular season begins its long grind towards the playoffs.

After carefully analyzing all the pitching matchups on Tuesday’s slate of games, we have uncovered a two-team parlay that promises to get your week off to a great start.

Game 1- New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals
Money Line: San Francisco +115 Washington -125
Total Line: 7

Matchup | Preview

New York comes into this series with just one win in its last six games, but is hoping that Jon Niese can lead the way to an early edge against the NL East divisional leaders. The left-hander got rocked in his last start; giving-up seven runs in seven innings in a loss to the Cubs. He is now 7-4 overall with a 3.73 ERA. Niese is 2-0 against the Nationals with a 3.42 ERA.

Washington had won seven of its last 10 games heading into Monday’s matchup against the Marlins. It will look to Ross Detwiler to get this series started on the right foot. This left-hander has not earned a decision in his last seven starts, but has only allowed a total of eight earned runs during that stretch. He is 4-3 overall with an ERA of 3.43 and is 3-1 lifetime against the Mets with a 3.60 ERA.

The Mets are 2-5 in their last seven games against a left-handed starter, while Washington is 5-1 in Detwiler’s last six starts in the first game of a series. The Nationals have won eight of the last 10 meetings and are 2-1 in two previous series this year. Stick with them to grab the early edge this time around as well with a win on Tuesday night. Game 2- San Francisco Giants vs. Atlanta Braves
Money Line: San Francisco +110 Atlanta -120
Run Line: 7.5

Matchup | Preview

The Giants completed a three-game sweep of Houston at home this weekend to extend their lead in the NL West over the Dodgers to a game and a half. They will look to Barry Zito to keep things going as their starter for Tuesday night. The left-hander is 7-6 on the year with a 4.01 ERA. He is 3-1 lifetime against the Braves with an ERA of 2.45.

Atlanta will look to keep pace in the NL East behind Jair Jurrjens, who is slated to get the start in Game 1 of this series. The right-hander spent some time in Triple-A this season and has returned to the Majors in solid form with a 3-0 record and 2.13 ERA in his last four outings. He is 2-3 against the Giants with a 3.58 ERA.

San Francisco is 1-6 in its last seven road games and 5-11 in Zito’s last 16 starts against a team with a winning record. The Braves are 20-6 in Jurrjens’ last 26 starts at home and 5-2 in his last seven starts overall. Atlanta has won six of the last seven meetings and is 3-1 in the last four games against the Giants at home. The trends hold true for Tuesday night as the Braves secure the back-end of this parlay with another win at home.
