Thursday MLB Betting Parlay – Yankees vs. Orioles, Cubs vs. Nationals

MLB Betting Previews- Thursday, Sept. 6 Parlay

The MLB regular season continues to grind-on through the stretch-run towards the postseason. Looking ahead to this Thursday’s slate of games, we dug deep into all the pertinent stats and betting trends for the probable pitching matchups to uncover a golden opportunity for the following two-team parlay.

Game 1: New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles
Money Line: New York +110 Baltimore -115
Total Line: 9

The Yankees will kick-off this crucial four-game weekend series with David Phelps on the mound. The right-hander is 3-4 this season with a 3.13 ERA. He faced the Orioles in his last start and gave-up three earned runs on three hits in just over four innings of work. He also faced Baltimore earlier in the season while pitching out of the bullpen.

Baltimore will counter with Jason Hammel in Game 1. He has made 18 previous starts this season to compile an 8-6 record behind a 3.54 ERA. The right-hander has not given-up more than four earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts. Lifetime against New York, Hammel’s is 1-3 with an ERA of 6.75.

New York is 1-8 in its last nine games against a team with a winning record while the Orioles are 5-2 in their last seven games against a team on the plus side of .500. The Yankees are 20-7 in their last 27 games in Baltimore but 2-5 against the O’s in the last seven meetings. Stick with Hammel to get the best of this matchup to help Baltimore secure the win.

Game 2: Chicago Cubs vs. Washington Nationals
Money Line: Chicago +145 Washington -160
Total Line: 8.5

Justin Germano will be on the mound for Chicago to wrap-up this four game set. The right-hander has lost his last three starts after giving-up 17 earned runs in 14 2/3 innings. Overall, he is now 2-5 on the year with a 5.52 ERA in seven previous starts. He did win is only other outing against the Nationals.

Washington will wrap things up against the Cubs with Jordan Zimmermann as its starter on Thursday night. He got rocked for a career-high eight runs this past Saturday in less than four innings. Overall, the right-hander is 9-8 on the year with a 3.01 ERA. He is 0-3 against Chicago with a 4.68 ERA.

The Cubs have already lost the first two games of this series heading into Wednesday’s Game 3 to run their record to 1-4 against the Nationals this season. Washington is 6-1 in Zimmermann’s last seven starts as a favorite. Look for him to bounce back with a solid outing as the Nationals add to this total with another victory on Thursday night to lock-up the back-end of this parlay.
