Thursday MLB Betting Parlay – Dodgers vs. Nationals, Rangers vs. Angels

MLB Betting Previews- Thursday, Sept. 20 Parlay

It is crunch time in the MLB as a number of teams in both the AL and NL try and keep their postseason dreams alive by stringing together enough wins to secure a spot over the last few weeks of the regular season.

Looking ahead to this Thursday’s slate of games, we dug deep into the pertinent stats and betting trends for all the probable pitching matchups and were able to uncover a golden opportunity for the following two-team parlay.

Game 1: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals
Money Line: Los Angeles +115 Washington -125
Total Line: 8

The Dodgers will wrap-up this four-game series with Chris Capuano on the mound. He has given-up a combined seven earned runs on 15 hits in his last three starts but did not get the decision in any of those games. The left-hander is 11-10 overall this season with an ERA of 3.60 in 30 starts. Capuano is 3-3 against the Nationals with a 3.72 ERA.

Washington is slated to send Ross Detwiler to the mound for Thursday night. This left-hander is 9-6 on the year with a 3.16 ERA.

He held Atlanta to just one earned run on seven hits last Friday but still could not secure the win. Detwiler is 0-1 against the Dodgers with a 3.77 ERA.

Los Angeles is 9-2 in its last 11 road games against a left-handed starter but the Nationals are 10-4 in Detwiler’s last 14 starts.

The Dodgers came into this series with five straight victories over Washington and get out of this series with another win on Thursday night.[dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2: Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels
Money Line: Texas +120 Los Angeles -135
Total Line: 7

The Rangers will go with Yu Darvish as their starter in Thursday night’s series finale. The rookie has regained his form down the stretch with a 4-1 record and 2.32 ERA in his last six starts. Overall, the right-hander is 15-9 on the year with a 4.02 ERA. His record against the Angels this season is 2-1 with a 5.32 ERA.

Los Angeles will counter with Zack Greinke to try and knock off the AL West leaders one more time after Tuesday’s 11-3 romp as a 132 home favorite.

He has also been red-hot in his last few outings with a 4-0 record in five starts while boasting an ERA of just1.70. The right-hander is 3-5 against the Rangers with a 2.81 ERA.

Texas is 2-7 in its last nine road game against a team with a winning record and the Angels are 19-7 in their last 26 games overall. This game sets up as a pitcher’s duel with both Darvish and Greinke in excellent form.

Stick with the hometown team to squeeze-out a win to complete the LA sweep and lock-up the back-end of this parlay.
