MLB Betting Parlay – Brewers vs. Cardinals + Pirates vs. Braves

MLB Betting Previews- Friday, April 27 Parlay

This weekend marks the end of the first month of the 2012 MLB regular season and a few early surprises both good and bad have made handicapping the games a bit more challenging so far.

We dug deep into the stats for Friday’s matchups and were able uncover a two-team parlay that promises to get your weekend off to a strong start.

Game 1- Milwaukee Brewers vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Money Line: Milwaukee +110 St. Louis -130
Total Line: 8

The Brewers will look to Yovani Gallardo as Friday night’s starter to get their record to .500 on the year. The Right-hander will be facing the Cardinals for the second time this season after giving-up six earned runs on seven hits in the season opener. Lifetime against St. Louis, Gallardo is 1-8 with a 6.17 ERA.

St. Louis will go with Jake Westbrook as its starter in this one. He has given-up just three earned runs on 14 hits in his first three outings while lasting over six innings in all three. The right-hander is 1-3 against the Brewers but has an overall ERA of just 3.08.

Milwaukee is 2-5 in Gallardo’s last seven starts on four day’s rest and 0-4 in his last four starts on the road against a winning team. St. Louis is 6-2 in Westbrook’s last eight starts against the NL Central and 9-3 in his last 12 starts following a team loss. The Cardinals are 6-2 in Game 1 of their last eight series and make it seven of nine with a win in this one. [dfads params=’groups=10&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

Game 2- Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Atlanta Braves
Money Line: Pittsburgh +165 St. Louis -185
Total Line: 7

A.J. Burnett will be making his second start of the season for Pittsburgh after beginning the season on the DL. He looked much better than expected in his first outing by blanking St. Louis through seven innings while striking out seven batters along the way.

The Braves will go with Tommy Hanson as their starter on Friday night. He is 2-2 on the year with a 3.38 ERA and coming off a strong outing against Arizona where he surrendered just two run on five hits through seven innings of work.

The Pirates are 5-22 in their last 27 games following a win and 1-4 in Game 1 of their last five series. Atlanta is 7-3 in Hanson’s last 10 starts in Game 1 of a series and 12-3 in its last 15 games overall. This should be a good duel on the mound, but look for the Braves to take full advantage of Pittsburgh’s inability to string together wins.
