2015 MLB Baseball World Series Gambling Lines: Future Picks 8-17-2015

Handicapping 2015 World Series Betting Odds

The non-waiver MLB trade deadline moves have had time to settle into their new surroundings – some moves have changed the landscape – I’m talking about the Toronto Blue Jays of course.

There will be some minor shuffling the next week or so that may tip the balance of power again but for the most part, teams are set with what they got – ready to make a push toward the postseason.

So where does your favorite sit in the eyes of Vegas? It you are a Jays fan, you have to be happy with the additions to the team and their subsequent acknowledgment as favorites to win it all.

If you are a Nationals fan, you have to be increasingly concerned that your team may not even make the playoffs this year.

Handicapping 2015 World Series Betting Odds

Toronto Blue Jays 4/1

Amazing what a few key deadline moves does for a team! The additions of Troy Tulowitzki, Ben Revere and David Price seem to have put this team over the top in the eyes of the oddmakers – pretty hard to disagree with. Adding a stud ace, the best shortstop in the game and a left fielder that led the NL in hits last year is pretty impressive.

The pitching staff has been the best in terms of ERA since the All-Star break and although the offense has slowed a tad they are still tops in the league by a longshot. There are zero weaknesses on the Jays right now – they are deserving World Series favorites.

Kansas City Royals 5/1

The Royals still hold the best record in the AL – they won’t be caught in the AL Central and can breathe knowing a postseason berth is theirs. Their goal now is home-field throughout the playoffs. With a strong pitching staff, a major chip on their shoulder and with a plethora of young and hungry talent it is pretty hard not to love the Royals to challenge this year. The Blue Jays handled them with relative ease in their most recent series – KC may be a step behind in terms of offense.

The experience factor goes to the Royals and so does the motivation to repeat at AL champs – the addition of Johnny Cueto doesn’t hurt either.

Los Angeles Dodgers 8/1

A lethal one-two punch of Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke has the Dodgers rightful co-faves to win the NL. LA is just 5-5 in their last 10 games, although they head into the week on a three game win streak and a 2.5 game lead in the NL West over the Giants.

LA has a lot of work to do in order to shake the “choker” label but in the NL runs will be at a premium in the playoffs and you still have to love the duo at the top of the rotation.

St. Louis Cardinals 8/1

The Cardinals are running away and hiding in the NL – they should easily cruise to home field advantage throughout the NL playoffs. The Cards currently lead the league in ERA for both starters and relievers- with runs being at a premium it is hard to pick against St. Louis this year.

With home field, they are my pick to emerge out of the ultra-competitive National League.

New York Mets 9/1

How about the Mets? They lead the Nats by 4.5 games in the NL East and have the second best pitching staff in the NL – pretty impressive. Do I like the Mets to qualify for the playoffs? Yes. Do I like them to beat the Cards or the Dodgers to win the NL – no.

Houston Astros 12/1

The Astros will come back down to earth – they have to! Houston enters this week having gone 4-6 in their last 10 games – expect them to tail off more as we head down the stretch.

New York Yankees 12/1

The old Yanks won 2 of 3 versus the Jays on the weekend and could surprise. They are poised to make at least one more roster move before the end of the season – they always do.

The rest…

Chicago Cubs 14/1
San Francisco Giants 14/1
Washington Nationals 14/1 – not sure what’s happening to the Nats but they are in a dogfight just to qualify for the postseason.
Pittsburgh Pirates 16/1
Los Angeles Angels 18/1 – 3-7 in their last 10 games? Mike Trout with a sub-.200 batting average this month? There is reason for concern in LA for sure especially with CJ Wilson out for the year.
Baltimore Orioles 40/1
Tampa Bay Rays 40/1
Minnesota Twins 50/1
Detroit Tigers 66/1
Texas Rangers 66/1
Chicago White Sox 100/1
Cleveland Indians 100/1
