Washington Nationals 6-1

The Nationals made the biggest splash in the offseason with the massive contract they gave to Max Scherzer. With the addition, the Nationals rotation is solidified to be one of the best in baseball.

Washington will go with Scherzer, Zimmerman, Strasburg, Gonzalez, and Fister. Not only will it be tough to score against this rotation, but come playoff time, the Nationals will be extremely tough to beat in a 5 or 7 game series.

Los Angeles Dodgers 17-2

The Dodgers have no ceiling to their payroll with multi billionaires as their owners. With MVP and Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw leading the way for the Dodgers, they will be right at the top with the Nationals in a battle for the NL Pennant.

[dfads params=’groups=63744&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

The Dodgers will now have Jimmy Rollins and Yasmani Grandal in their lineup on a daily basis to add to the already powerful bats of Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez.

Boston Red Sox 10-1

The Red Sox are attempting to go from last to first following a debacle of a season in 2014.

With the addition of Pablo Sandoval in the off season, the Red Sox have solidified a lineup that will likely have Ortiz, Ramirez, Napoli, and Sandoval all in the middle. Each one will protect the other and could cause the AL East pitchers many fits.

Seattle Mariners 12-1

The Mariners have been a public favorite thus far in terms of futures betting. Out of the AL West, the Mariners are poised to compete with the Angels for the top spot.

With their main acquisition being Nelson Cruz, the Mariners now have a solid 1-5 in the lineup. Highlighting this part will be Austin Jackson, Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager and Nelson Cruz.

With King Felix and his court leading the rotation, Seattle could be in for a big season.

St. Louis Cardinals 12-1

The Cardinals have found a way to have a very good balance in terms of starting pitching and their lineup.

With Holliday, Heyward, and Jay in the outfield, the Cardinals have a good variety of speed and power.

The pitching rotation will be one of the tops in baseball led by Adam Wainwright and rounded out by Carlos Martinez.

San Francisco Giants 18-1

It’s very hard not to want to back the defending World Series Champs at this kind of price.

The Giants tried to add some speed to their lineup when they gave OF Nori Aoki a contract in the offseason. Aoki will likely hit 1st and if he can repeat what he did with Kansas City, he could be a nice piece for San Fran.

Cleveland Indians 20-1

The Tribe has been receiving some of the best media attention thus far. The key for Cleveland will be staying healthy. Especially for Michael Bourn and Nick Swisher.

Bourn and Swisher were given two of the highest contracts in Indians history. Neither has lived up to the expectations, but are both poised and determined to return to form.

The middle of the lineup has been helped with the trade acquisition of OF Brandon Moss.

Pittsburgh Pirates 25-1

The Pirates have returned the high energy and excitement back to the city of Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has reached back-to-back postseasons with an appearance in the 2013 NL Division Series and a short stint in the 2014 NL Wild Card game.

A question that remains for Pittsburgh will be their corner outfield spots and whether they can produce enough.

RF Gregory Polanco and LF Starling Marte will be two major factors in determining how good this Pirates team will be.

Toronto Blue Jays 25-1

The Blue Jays are a tough team to back because they are in a crowded and always expected to be good AL East.

With Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion in the 3-4 spots, this offense has the potential to put up runs.

The questions surrounding the Blue Jays is their starting pitching. The likely Ace of the squad will be Drew Hutchison. Hutchison has a career ERA of 4.51.

Kansas City Royals 33-1

A single away from tying Game 7 of the World Series, the Royals sit with quite high odds heading into the 2015 season.

With their division, the AL Central, expected to be stacked, backing the Royals is risky.

[dfads params=’groups=63745&limit=1&return_javascript=0′]

However, the young core has stuck around and developed together and this team could do some serious damage once again.

The main key for them will be replacing starting pitcher James Shields. Youngster Yordano Ventura will be the likely Ace for Kansas City as the fire thrower can easily hit over 100 on the radar gun.

Here are the rest of the odds for the league:

  • Los Angeles Angels 14/1
  • Chicago Cubs 16/1
  • Chicago White Sox 16/1
  • Detroit Tigers 16/1
  • San Diego Padres 18/1
  • Oakland Athletics 25/1
  • Baltimore Orioles 33/1
  • Miami Marlins 33/1
  • New York Mets 33/1
  • New York Yankees 33/1
  • Cincinnati Reds 50/1
  • Houston Astros 50/1
  • Milwaukee Brewers 50/1
  • Texas Rangers 50/1
  • Atlanta Braves 66/1
  • Tampa Bay Rays 66/1
  • Arizona Diamondbacks 100/1
  • Colorado Rockies 100/1
  • Minnesota Twins 100/1
  • Philadelphia Phillies 150/1
