We’re starting to see the stars realign themselves. The Dodgers and Mets are moving back to where we expected them to be.

But a few teams are still surprising us in positive and negative ways as we check in with the MLB power rankings.

(Last week’s rankings in brackets)

1. (3) Tampa Bay Rays (29-11): It really is 2008 all over again. These guys look unstoppable – and the scary part is that B.J. Upton and Carlos Pena haven’t even gotten going yet.

2. (17) Los Angeles Dodgers (22-18): Remember, the power rankings are about relative strength. There’s no team hotter than the Dodgers, who have won nine of 10.

3. (1) New York Yankees (25-15): Chinks in the armor? They’re looking a bit old and creaky – Jorge Posada can’t stay healthy – and Javier Vazquez continues to drag the staff down.

4. (2) Philadelphia Phillies (24-15): Frustrating to see Roy Halladay still struggling to get run support, but the Phils will be just fine. Glad to see Jimmy Rollins back.

5. (9) Toronto Blue Jays (25-17): Nothing can explain the absurd power binge from this plucky group. As last year taught us, however, it can’t last. Right?

6. (4) Minnesota Twins (24-16): Stumbled a bit this week but this is an extremely balanced roster. They’ll remain in the hunt.

7. (14) Cincinnati Reds (23-17): Not a fluke, seriously. They have the talent to be Tampa Bay Lite.

8. (5) St. Louis Cardinals (23-18): Crazy when a .322-8-29 line is “subpar” for Albert Pujols. He’ll be fine and so will the Cards.

9. (8) San Diego Padres (24-16): It’s hard not to get excited about Mat Latos. The kid is dialed in.

10. (10) Detroit Tigers (23-17): Go figure. In 2008 it was all hitting, no pitching; the trend reversed in 2009; now the Tigers are back to 2008 form.

11. (7) Texas Rangers (23-18): Recalling Derek Holland looks like a move that could put Texas over the top. Can he stick with the big club?

12. (6) San Francisco Giants (22-17): My goodness, is their starting staff ever dominant. It could very well be enough to compensate for the popgun attack.

13. (18) Atlanta Braves (20-20): The cream rises to the top and the Braves still have a good enough team to challenge for the wild card. Their recent surge, led by Troy Glaus, isn’t that surprising.

14. (13) Boston Red Sox (21-20): 2010 could be strange in that the Red Sox could totally bounce back and still not win enough games to catch the Rays or Yankees.

15. (21) Florida Marlins (22-19): The Hanley Ramirez tiff overshadowed what has been a sneaky little run up the standings for the Fish.

16. (24) Chicago Cubs (19-22): Anything can happen in the NL Central, it seems, and the Cubs are the latest team to climb back into the race. If Aramis Ramirez heats up, they could have something here.

17. (12) Washington Nationals (21-20): Possibly creeping back to Earth. Meanwhile, Mr. Strasburg hasn’t allowed a run yet at AAA.

18. (16). Los Angeles Angels (19-23): The Blue Jays are eight games over .500 and five games out. The Angels are four games under .500 and four and a half games out. Is the AL West baseball’s worst division?

19. (11) New York Mets (19-22): David Wright’s bizarre season – a mixture of good power numbers and astronomical strikeout totals – symbolizes just how messed up the Mets are.

20. (20) Colorado Rockies (19-21): Could Jeff Francis be the shot in the arm Colorado needs to rejoin the playoff race?

21. (22) Pittsburgh Pirates (18-22): By their standards, they’ve been kinda, sorta OK this season. But the talent isn’t there for their adequacy to continue.

22. (15) Oakland Athletics (20-21)
23. (23) Chicago White Sox (16-23)
24. (28) Houston Astros (14-26)
25. (27) Cleveland Indians (15-23)
26. (26) Arizona Diamondbacks (17-24)
27. (19) Milwaukee Brewers (15-25)
28. (30) Kansas City Royals (16-25)
29. (29) Baltimore Orioles (13-28)
30. (25) Seattle Mariners (14-28)
