The following is a brief preview of each of the National League teams and their current odds to win the NL Pennant.

Arizona Diamondbacks      +1300

The D-Backs brought in Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennady to bolster their rotation, but it may not be enough to get them over the hump in the West.

Atlanta Braves                     +1300

The Braves shuffled the lineup in their infield with Martin Prado taking over at second and Tony Glaus at first as they continue to build a team that can compete in the East.

Chicago Cubs                        + 800

Carlos Zambrano will lead the Cubs rotation and Alfonzo Soriano and Derreck Lee look to provide the offensive firepower that will get the Cubs back on top in the Central.

Cincinnati Reds                    +1300

The Reds have not had a winning season in 10 years but this year’s squad has a pretty good shot at getting them a few games over .500

Colorado Rockies                 +1300

The Rockies have a solid lineup from top to bottom, but they will need players like Ubaldo Jimenez, Dexter Fowler, and Carlos Gonzalez to have monster years to win the NL.

Florida Marlins                     +1300

Josh Johnson and Ricky Nolasco will lead the Marlin’s starting rotation this season. If they can get some more production from their bats they have a chance to make things interesting.

Houston Astros                     +5000

Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt lead a veteran group of players that will need to over achieve this season to have any hopes competing in the Central division.

Los Angeles Dodgers             +800

The Dodgers have some solid pitching with the likes of Chad Billingsley and Hiroki Kuroda, but the lack of a true ace could keep them from once again getting past the Phillies in the playoffs.

Milwaukee Brewers              +2300

Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun can provide the bats, but the Brewers still have one of the weakest rotations in the NL.

New York Mets                       + 800

The Mets still have quite a bit of star power on their team with players like Johan Santana, Carlos Beltran, and Carlos Delgado. Their shaky bullpen is the main question mark for this team in 2010.

Philadelphia Phillies               +200

The Phillies gave up P Cliff Lee to land Roy Halladay in hopes a getting to a third straight World Series. Adding the best pitcher in baseball to one of the strongest lineups in the league makes them the odds-on-favorite in the NL.

Pittsburgh Pirates                  +5000

Garrett Jones and Pedro Alverez are leading the youth movement in Pittsburgh, but it will still take a few more seasons before they will be competitive in the Central.

San Diego Padres                   +5000

The Padres made some wholesale changes to their lineup in the off season and have a good nucleus of young talent, but it still may take a few more seasons for it all to come together.

San Francisco Giants             +1300

With Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum leading the rotation, the Giants have one of the best rotations in the NL. If things can come together quickly, this could be the team to watch in the West.

St. Louis Cardinals                   +450

The Cardinals were able to resign Matt Holliday and have arguably the best player in the game; Albert Pujols. With Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter anchoring the starting rotation, St. Louis is more than capable of winning the NL.

Washington Nationals          +5000

The Nationals should improve on last year’s 59 win total, but they do not have the horses to keep up in the East let alone the NL.
