Gambling Preview: MLB All-Star Game

Baseball will be taking a bit of a break mid-July, as per usual, as they get set for their All-Star Game, here’s a quick gambling preview plus the 2009 All-Star game rosters…

MLB Betting – 2009 All-Star Break Won’t Be As Exciting As 2008

It’s going to be a fun-filled weekend with the UFC 100 odds up on the sports card for betting as the entire UFC 100 fight card is packed with tantalizing matchups.

But even so, UFC is not America’s pastime. Baseball is.

That being said, baseball will be taking a bit of a break mid-July, as per usual, as they get set for their All-Star Game and break.

On Monday night, we’ll get a look at the Home Run Derby, which will be hard to replicate from last year.

In 2008, Josh Hamilton tore it up as he hit 28 home runs in a single round before eventually losing to Justin Morneau. Morneau has already pulled out of the Derby, which leaves Detroit’s Brandon Inge, Tampa Bay’s Evan Longoria, Boston’s Jason Bay, Philadelphia’s Ryan Howard, St. Louis’ Albert Pujols, San Diego’s Adrian Gonzalez and Milwaukee’s Prince Fielder.

On Tuesday night, the 80th All-Star game will be played and the National League will be looking to win for the first time in 12 years.

The American League has won 11 straight All-Star games and it has made a difference recently as the World Series home field advantage has been on the line.

There is a legitimate reason to believe that the National League will win this year.

They have the better pitching staff all the way around, with studs like Tim Lincecum and Johan Santana leading the way.

They will probably be an underdog on the betting line but as far as sports picks go, they should offer some good value.

If you’re free on Saturday, check out Sheryl Crow’s free concert.

She’ll be performing under the Gateway Arch as part of the All-Star festivities.
