Red Sox still favored to win 2008 World Series?

The MLB Playoff Race is in full swing and there’s still time to bet on the 2008 World Series winner at betED.com.

The up-and-down Boston Red Sox, the defending World Series champs, are holding on to the top favorite position at +375 in betED.com 2008 MLB World Series betting futures.

Boston sits in second spot in the AL East division, just 1½ games back of the front-running Tampa Bay Rays, and leads the AL Wild Card standings by 6½ games over the Minnesota Twins.

The Red Sox and Rays opened a key, three-game set Monday night at Fenway Park that could go a long way in determining first place in the division.

The Red Sox are +175 favorites to win the American league pennant at betED.com.

The Chicago Cubs, who lead the NL Central division but have been sliding lately, going 3-7 SU in their past 10, are right behind the Red Sox at +425 moneyline odds to win the 2008 World Series. The Cubs are +150 favorites to win the National League pennant.

And the Rays are also +425 to win the MLB championship, and +225 to win the AL pennant.

The Los Angeles Angels, who have held a comfortable lead atop the AL West division for the better part of two months, are at +450 odds to win the World Series and +200 to win the AL pennant.

Some longshots for the World Series title among teams still in contention include the Philadelphia Phillies at +1800, Arizona Diamondbacks at +1500, Minnesota Twins at +1400, and Chicago White Sox at +1300.
